Keywords: Quake ftp archive

We are pleased to announce that Walnut Creek has agreed to let their

server act as the primary Quake ftp archive. It will host addons for

Quake and all future games based on the Quake-engine.

The official URLs are:

ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/idgames2/

http://www.cdrom.com/pub/idgames2/

You can also use /pub/quake/ for easy reference.

Uploads should go into /pub/idgames2/incoming/, and the archive

maintainers aim to process uploads daily. Please read the message that

is displayed as you enter this directory.

Note that you should not post binaries in discussion groups. If you

have created a new editor, level or patch, please upload it instead to

ftp.cdrom.com and announce it on rec.games.computer.quake.announce.

Please do not upload Quake-related materials to /pub/idgames/incoming/,

the DOOM-related archive, as it will only cause more work for the

archive maintainers. Thank you.

Both archives share the .../idstuff/ directory, which is mirrored from

ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/.

We encourage other ftp sites to mirror this archive. Please read the

file README.mirrorers for this.
