WEAPON FRENZY 1.0 Bill Lefler (WRL)

This is basically a conglomeration of other people's weapon mods.

I'll be updating this as more and more new weapons appear on the net,

( at least until I run out of keys to bind ) so watch

rec.games.computer.quake.announce for updates. Send me some mail if

you have a new weapon to add. Thanks to the programmers of the mods!

Here's the current list of weapons included:

- "Blaster" patch by Michael Dewberry.

This patch replaces the single barrel shotgun with the laser that

those enforcers have been blasting you with. This thing is fairly

deadly and can be used to get in some good sniper shots on people

since there is no sound from the gun when firing ( except for a nice

'sizzle' when the beams hit the target. ) Should boost people's

chances after being resurrected in deathmatch.

- Bouncing Fragmentation Grenade! 7/28/96 by Steve Bond

Modified by: Bill Lefler

"Eraser" grenades. You can hand-toss this grenade (no

weapon needed ) and it will bounce around and land just as the id one

does. After it lands it will launch straight up into the air and

explode, shooting 25 pieces of shrapnel out in random directions.

Each piece of shrapnel does 33 damage. Tossing one of these

cookies costs 2 grenades.

( WRL - I think that this weapon needs to be modified

a bit, as the chances of being hit by the shrapnel doesn't seem to be

too high. That's why I increased the shrapnel count. Maybe

I'll look at the vectors soon. )

IMPULSE 20 - toss fragmentation grenade

- Cluster-Bouncy-Proximity Grenades

Mods by

Allen Seger

Grenades are now bouncy proximity mines. A grenade

will lay on the floor and hop at intervals. If a target is detected

within range, the grenade will hop towards the target and

explode. Grenades won't detect targets while they're in the air.

When the grenade launcher is fired, if you have less than five

ammo you will fire a single grenade which will behave as

described above. If you have 5 or more ammo, you'll fire a

cluster bomb which will explode and release five proximity

grenades. ( Another hand-toss weapon. )

IMPULSE 21 - toss proximity grenade

- PipeBombs

Modifications by AsmodeusB (28/07/96)

PipeBombs can also be hand-tossed. They bounce around

until they come to rest ( bouncing off enemies as well. ) You can

then detonate them when you see your friend wandering too close to

them.

IMPULSE 22 - toss pipebomb

IMPULSE 23 - detonate pipebombs

FILES:

frenzy1.txt - this file

frenzy1p.zip - compiled progs.dat

frenzy1c.zip - modified .qc files

-------------------------------------------------------------

COMPILING:

To compile the modified .qc files, create a FRENZY directory off

your quake dir with a PROGS subdirectory. Place the .qc files in the

PROGS dir. Then run qccdos ( obtain from ftp.cdrom.com in

\pub\quake\quakec\qcc.tar.gz ). A PROGS.DAT file will be created in

the FRENZY directory. Then run: quake -game FRENZY
