Could people who set up new servers at least consider using the new Id

server software, WinDed, if they can? It's an add-on server program that

runs dedicated servers only thru Win32 (Win95 or WinNT, WinNT being

best). The owner of stomped.com (where you can get the software)

commented that it was probably the smoothest server software. It only

works if you have registered Quake. It isn't made clear if this is a

"first draft" of the new server/client 'net game speed-up software, but

it does seem to give smoother games.
