Myself and some freinds are planning to set up a LAN in Adelaide here in

Australia to play Quake in about 3 weeks or so, we have already

sucessfully set up 2 networks with ppl voluntarily bringing their own

computers to be a part of it. I must say that Quake works beautifully

on a network where the slowest machine is a P100 and we can get 10

players no problems at all, we have yet to get a game with more than 10

ppl playing at once because everybody gets into file transfers and (dare

I say it on this newsgroup) other games as well. So if your in adelaide

and you happen to be interested in coming then send me some mail:

dvnielse@cs.adelaide.edu.au

Also, if anybody from ID reads this group, I'm very interested in doing

a QUAKE launch at the next network day we set up, we could have a

Massive multi-player tournament on a special version of quake programmed

for such a purpose with a few copies of Quake to give away to the winner

of the tournament. Or perhaps some unreleased stuff packed onto a CD

that won't be in the full release... I'm sure that it will become a

collectors item pretty fast.

If anyone is intereted give me a buzz.
