Man, I've been waiting a long time to make this post :-)
The Netherworld, a bbs which has hosted many Doom-style games over the
last year and a half is now running a Quake server. If you are local to
the 703 area code (Fairfax, VA) and would like to play on a server that
has relatively good ping times, then check us out!
Last night after setting it up, 4 of us played until 4 a.m. with ping
times ranging from 158 to 210.
Entering the game is still a bit awkward (there's a text file in the
\setup library that will help), and you will see an error message while it
is making a good connection, but hey, it works :)

Did you know that Pennsylvania was settled by a group of Quakers fleeing
religious persecution.
