I've written a Unix program to display information about
running quake servers. Give it a list of host addresses and
it will determine if they're running a server. Typical
output is:
129.15.128.19 DOWN
192.246.40.34 DOWN
204.120.67.11 "GARY1" map test3 at 204.120.67.11:26000 4/8 players
129.186.3.98 "sentinel" map test1 at 129.186.3.98:26000 1/8 players
204.243.221.24 DOWN
204.181.115.4 "quake" map test3 at 204.181.115.4:26000 0/8 players
129.130.99.129 DOWN
129.186.78.94 DOWN
128.174.192.147 "arh0138" map test3 at 128.174.192.147:26000 0/8 players
141.211.18.60 "Edwardo" map test1 at 141.211.18.60:26000 2/16 players
128.148.188.50 DOWN
204.189.101.101 no response
Always available in ftp.activesw.com:/pub/quake
qstat1-0.zip has been uploaded to ftp.cdrom.com:/quake/incoming
Enjoy!
