I am in the process of starting the plans for a Quake Yellow Pages...
after recently getting into Quake and finding that it is hard to get an all
inclusive list of Quake pages from any one place...IE Yahoo, AV, Lycos
etc....I have decided to put together my own site...
I have access to a dual T1 connection a Microsoft SQL server running on a
P166 with 64mb ram and the works so what the hell right???
Anyway, I do database programming for a living and have done several search
engines and databases....
The key here is, I need people and lists....and I dont want to do what I
did already and just keep grabbing Yahoo's list....SOOOOO....
I will be excepting 2 things threw e-mail....
1. People who wish to contribute Technical Support...IE answer Newbie
questions and give Guru type advice....also in Tech Support would be to
help probably set up a Quake Server.....(on my home machine!)
2. People who would want to contribute to the page and help gather content
and do content and idea works...as well as tracking and tracing links....I
have a spider program as well as a couple of other ways but nothing is
better then going to the site you are going to list....
I will be breaking the pages into categories but the pages may be listed in
multiple categories...soooo I will be using a mail in form only at first
and then will add a database form...when the whole thing takes shape....
