Attention all you editing type doods out there....

Are you frustrated with the "other" editors, or a just new to editing

and want something *easy* to make Quake levels with?

If you answer yes to either question, you should check out one of the

best editors out there that has received very little of the attention

that it is due. With cooperation and input from Armin Rigo, the

author, I have put up an improved version of my QuakeMap page at:

http://users.yknet.yk.ca/dmckay/qmap

It explores some of the features of this ground-breaking editor.

- How would you like to compile your map complete with QBSP/ VIS /

Light, then remove the textures for distribution resulting in a level

that is only 10-20% of the compiled BSP? This also makes "copyright

infringement" a non-issue. QuakeMap does it.

- How would you like to import new textures into your maps simply and

easily, with no messing around? QuakeMap does it.

- How would you like to write, compile, and integrate QuakeC with the

added feature of much larger capacity than QCC? QuakeMap does it.

- How about *simple* use, and *powerful* features? QuakeMap has 'em.

-How about a "wizard" to simplify some of the more frustrating

"import" tasks? Yup... that too.

The only thing lacking from QuakeMap is a 3D editing view (at the

moment... see Armin's latest e-mail on my page)

There are screenshots, and basic features outlined, along with links

for downloading the latest version. These links are always updated as

soon as the newest version is released.

Armin is building some "libraries" of .QME files from the cool stuff

at the QuakeLab, and will be providing them to me for download from my

page.

I am not affiliated with QuakeMap in any way, other than the fact that

Armin has decided to support my effort, and I like, and use QuakeMap.

Check it out... even if you're happy with your current editor,

QuakeMap is indeed ground-breaking, out-of-beta, and virtually bug

free :-)
