If you live near Portland, Oregon and enjoy PC-based multiplayer games

you should consider joining the Portland Network Gamers Group. We

get together one weekend each month to hook our computers into a

local-area-network and play multiplayer games. It is easy, inexpensive,

and a lot of fun. Our only requirement is that people be at least 21 years

old.

If you would like to know more about the group send your questions

to:

caustic@teleport.com

or visit the group's web page at:

=========================================================

Schedule

Next Meeting is on 22 January

Location

A large conference room at a motel in southwest Portland

near the junction of Interstate-5 and Interstate-205.

Cost

Currently there are no membership dues. People that attend a

meeting split the meeting room rental cost equally, usually

$4-$5 per person.

Hardware and Software Requirements

NE2000 compatible ethernet card with a connection for 10baseT

cable (aka, twisted pair and RJ45). These things are available for less

than $40.

Twisted pair cable at least 25 feet long and preferably 50 feet long.

Games Played

Current favorites are:

Quake

Descent II

Red Alert

Diablo

Whiplash

EF2000

Deadlock

Mechwarrior II

In general, if it's multiplayer, you'll probably find some people

that want to play it.
