Please forward this email to all of your friends and clan members!!!
The popularity of Quake in the Web Cafe has been mind-blowing, so we are
holding the first of many Quake Tournaments on Monday, March 3 from
6pm-10pm. The rules and prizes are outlined below. Please reply to this
email if you want to take part, because only the first 60 respondents
can
participate in this tournament... the rest will have to wait until the
next
one. I will email the first 60 respondents a full list of tournament
participants and their starting times for the preliminary round. Please
read the rules carefully, and come on in to the Web Cafe to practice for
March 3!
Rules:
1. Preliminary round games will last 10 minutes and will contain up to
10
players per round.
2. The format is Deathmatch and scores will equal the number of frags
(kills) accumulated during single rounds played.
3. The entry fee will be $2 per player, per round played.
4. Players may play repeatedly in the preliminary round to improve
their
frag scores.
5. The Preliminary round will be held from 6pm until 9pm.
6. The ten winners of Preliminary round games with the most frags in a
single game will advance to the Final round.
7. Players eligible for Final round play must be present at 9pm or they
will be disqualified from advancement. The Final round will continue
with
runner-up players taking the place of absent finalists.
8. The Final round will consist of three 15 minute games with the top
ten
players in competition against each other.
9. Final round scores will be cumulative.
10. Players advancing to the Final round will not be charged entry fees
for final round game time.
11. All game levels will be selected by Web Cafe administration and may
include new levels not included in original Quake.
12. No game modifications will be used. No cheat codes allowed, no
exiting
levels, and no hooks are allowed.
13. Custom player configs will be allowed, however time will not be
reserved for control set-up. Player custom config files must be on disk
and
must be titled "yourname.cfg" in order to qualify for tournament use.
14. Game control devices other than those provided by the Web Cafe will
not be allowed.
15. Anyone who breaks any of these rules will be disqualified.
Prizes:
1. FIRST PLACE: Unlimited computer use until March 31, 1997.
2. SECOND PLACE: 10 free hours computer use.
3. THIRD PLACE: 5 free hours computer use.
