Hi

Just posting to let you all know about the event currently going on at my website,

the Gestalt666 Resource. My debut Quake level (code-named Quartet) is currently under

construction, and to celebrate I've devoted a webpage to it...

So why is Quartet so exciting?

I'm an established Doom level designer (creator of the eye-dropping Cygnus IV WAD)

and I've been practicing Quake editing for a few months now. Paul Taylor of "A World

Of Quake" took a look at the first screenshot and described it as 'cool'. And that was

when I'd only been working on the level for a few hours...

So why is the webpage so exciting?

I'm going to upload (almost) daily text updates and a new screenshot to the page at

least five times a week until the level is completed. As far as I know this is the

first time anyone has done anything like this...

Regularly checking my page will give you all some idea of what goes into designing a

large Single Player Quake level, and let you all see it as it develops. If any of you

have any comments about what you've seen of the level, just drop me a line at

JohnBye@tripod.net to let me know...

You can see previous progress reports at -

Due to file space limitations I have to remove the old screenshot to make room for

the new one each day. This means that each screenshot is only available for a day or

two before being replaced, so make sure to check as often as possible so as not to miss

anything...

Hope to see you all soon!

John (Gestalt666)
