Fragapalooza '97

================

http://www.spooge.com/frag/

The most fun you can have with your computer on

What Is Fragapalooza?

---------------------

* Fragapalooza '97 is a four day computer gaming tournament

being held in Edmonton, Alberta over the Labour Day long

weekend (August 29 through September 1).

* This non-profit, just-for-fun LAN tournament is going to

be held in the Hangar on Kingsway, just north-west of

downtown Edmonton.

* Based on the initial response over the internet, we are

expecting over 200 gamers from all over western Canada and

the western United States, plus well over 5000 spectators

for this weekend-long event.

Why Should You Sponsor This Event?

----------------------------------

* Most participants and spectators at this event will be

males under the age of 35, with high disposable income and

good computer knowledge.

* Fragapalooza will offer excellent exposure for your

product to home computer users. This is your opportunity

to present your product or service to a group of people

who are very interested in computers.

* This is your chance to get your company's name out into

the community. Sponsors of Fragapalooza will be able to put

up posters, displays, or have representatives present at

the venue. Sponsors will also be recognized on the

Fragapalooza website.

* THIS IS GOING TO BE A VERY FUN, SOCIAL EVENT!

Background Information

----------------------

The main attraction for this event is the wildly popular

computer game called Quake. Introduced by id Software just

over a year ago, Quake has taken both the single and

multiplayer gaming worlds by storm. Quake players can play

in one of three different ways: single-player, multiplayer

over a LAN, and multiplayer over the internet. This last

method is the way that most players enjoy Quake. By playing

over the internet, players can play with others from all

over the world. There are two problems with internet play:

games suffer from slow play when the internet is busy and

gamers never get to meet each other face to face. This

weekend will change that...

By gathering everyone in one location, participants will

have high speed connections to other players and will be

able to meet each other by simply looking across the table.
