Hi,
I'm going to get right to the point - as soon as Q2 is out, I'm starting
work on a total conversion based on The Evil Dead movies. OK, I know this
is a little premature, but it seems that Q2 is going to be out before all
these other Q1 conversions are finished. Yeah, I know a lot of work is
involved, but I'm going for a time frame of 4-6 months, while still
managing to hold down my job!!
OK, I'm looking for some help. I've got some maps designed, the basic game
structure, and a list of things I'm going to be adding, based on what is
known about Q2 at this time (here's a teaser - we know Q2 can handle
weapons on either the right or left....well, remember in the film where Ash
cuts his hand off and puts a chainsaw in it's place, I'm gonna have both
the chainsaw and shotgun on screen and usable at the same time!). I need
some good coders (I'm a software engineer IRL so I'll be able to handle it,
but some help would speed it up), just remember we're dealing with DLL's. A
bit more to it than simple Quake-C. Artists would be of great help -
again, I could do this, but it wouldn't be too great, especially the
animation (I'm crap at that). You name it, I could do with some help. The
more people involved, the faster it can be done.
Now, before anyone starts saying it's almost impossible, I'll end by saying
that I'm only after competent people who can meet deadlines. Yeah, we do it
for fun, but if one person is late, it lets down the team.
If you're interested, get in touch. This is a little early, and I
definitely won't be programming any Q2 utils myself, but I'm gonna get as
much preliminary design and code done as I can.
Looking forward to work with you,
Matt
